Reaching your maps potential
The term QAQC gets thrown about quite a bit now.. but its worth next to nothing unless you practice it. and by 'it'.. I mean: What do you can to ensure the quality of the product you show to you customer A)is factual B)is useful C)knocks their socks off.
Although this is not the end of the list, QAQC methods can be applied to any part of any project, there is a wealth of knowledge in the people you work with, so use it! get their opinion on things you could do to make your map better
But seriously, be honest with yourself.. when you think you've "finished" get out your marker pens and start circling and scribbling improvements you could make... spelling, font, colour, line widths, hillshade, placement, data etc.. is it the best map you can make?
The main message here is to not settle for average, be constructively critical of your work and get a second opinion
